Since this is a Shakespeare thread, I have a question to ask from you guys.

I want to read his English history plays (Richard II, Henry V, etc.), but I don't know shit about english history itself.
Is this going to be a problem in understanding these works, or do I have to make some research in order to "get" these pieces?
