Threads just devolving into shitposting and seething now, so in the likely event that this gets archived overnight I'd like to say it was a pleasure to read through all your works. For the people who bought a physical copy, I hope you'll be satisfied with it. Lots of people have expressed regret at having missed this, so I reckon I'll post a coronameron vol 4 - 6 thread tomorrow and see if it gains any traction, as I share the sentiment an anon expressed early in the project that such collected writings should be more regular on /lit/, especially so now that we have a flood of /pol/tards shitting up the board. Have a good one lads, and best of luck in becoming the real authors many of you deserve to be.

>30 euros in 2 days after multiple weeks working on it
Yeah, real quick buck anons. I aint asking you to buy it, as I think should be clear by now. The physical copy is a luxury, and I primarily formatted for a comfortable pdf reading as it was hard to read beforehand. Also you have dadadadadad to thank for idea of writing it, I just edited it.
>>15598901
I wrote a bit of that too, definitely not putting it on my CV.
>>15599592
I'd only recommend buying this if you're one of the authors of a piece you're particularly proud of. Otherwise, you'll miss nothing with the free pdf. I think I'll edit the lulu description so that the pdf is linked there so people will still be able to find it after this thread archives.

Couldn't have said it better myself, there are tens of thousands of books out there that are written and passed through filters, why not have something that isn't.
>>15593548
Well I didn't have to pay to have this shitpost printed, besides the cost of a proof copy. Sure it took a bit of time to edit properly, but it doesn't really matter that much that other people won't read it, such is the fate of most books nowadays with self-publishing. It's pretty clear reading through that this isn't just a project with a small group of indulgent writers going on long essays, as far as I can remember there is only one essay in this which I thought to be overindulgent, some nerd talking about his own political philosophy for 15 pages. Most pieces are clearly different in style, content, and last about 2-3 pages, I'd wager there's somewhere over 200 unique contributors. Indeed perhaps "collaborative" writing is the wrong term given the lack of coherent narrative, rather collected writings, but I think to deem it a pure shitpost is too dismissive.

I'm getting about 3 euros profit per piece, I really don't expect more than 10 people to buy it since it's just a book of shitposts with a free pdf easily available online. The money I might make is primarily to cover the costs if I have to order another proof copy if people want changes to it. Ordering another proof copy is enough to take a whole number percentage from my bank account, and while I do not want to profiteer from other people's work, I do not want to make a loss, even if it's just a few euros.
>>15589367
As I said, infinite amount of copies. Some are decent stories in their own right, that is to say they don't rely on memes to be comedic and effective. There is also a large amount of 4chan shitposting, such as at least a dozen coomer pieces. PDF is linked in the OP if you want to read through.
>>15589388
Checked and I've heard that a lot in these past few threads, I think it's worth considering starting another collaborative project some this month. I really liked this idea >>15587728

No limit on copies, and I have no intention of removing it from sale.
>>15589118
There's a surprising amount of good stuff, but highlights include Levirusthan, Das Rite Das Kapital, Kingslayer, Oob, Moviebob, and the various pieces about dodos.

/lit/s collaborative masterpiece can now be purchased here: https://www.lulu.com/en/us/shop/anonymous-/coronameron/paperback/product-vmdmmn.html shipping most everywhere.

Well lads, this is it, your genius now available to the world. If you want to see what a specific page looks like, check the number in the pdf, tell me and I'll get you a photo. Two minor issues with print: the barcode on the back cover looks a bit janky, and the outside margin is a bit tight. In regards to the margin, it becomes less noticeable as you read on, because this is a rather thick book. In regards to putting it on Amazon, Amazon charges ridiculous fees, to the point where at minimum price you'd be paying ~€35 for the book. Shipping from Lulu is a fine price and seems to go everywhere. And in case this a concern of yours, I do not see your address if you order a copy, all I see is the date and country. If you have any queries about the book after this thread archives/the pdf link dies, you can message me on Goodreads, you'll see me in the reviews of Coronameron. And so anons, enjoy coronameron in it's almost certaintly final form.

Simply put my free trial of Adobe acrobat pdf maker is over and it took me over 2 hours to get it installed and operational, I do not particularly fancy doing that again and that is what I'd have to do to get that redaction out of print. Also I realise that the other anons claiming to have authored the piece are 99% likely to be trolls, but that is not a chance I want to take. I appreciate your sincerity, but it is probably easier for you to put your contribution out of your mind than it is for me to get that piece of shit Adobe Acrobat working again.

I'll trust your word on you being the author, but I really don't see the point of deleting it. Unless you accidentally included some identifying info in the story, which you don't seem to have done, there's no good reason. If you're comfortable shitposting anonymously on /lit/, knowing full well that even the worst of your posts will be archived on warosu, I don't see what's different about this situation. This is the nature of the internet.

Alright just going to let the thread die now as it's purpouse is practically complete. Took a lot longer than I expected to get this document converted to pdf, but after about 4 hours of considering moving into the woods and bashing lumps of silicon together, I seem to have gotten it sorted. If you have anymore remarks/concerns feel free to post them and I'll read them tomorrow morning, but from here it's really just waiting for the proof copy so I can verify that I haven't cocked up the margins and such. So thanks for all the support and expect an update within 2 weeks (delivery takes time and I have to approve the physical copy before publsihing it).

insh'allah Adobe studios will be wiped from the face of this earth, fucking proprietary software. Going to be up a bit later than I anticipated getting this converted to pdf, but oh well.

Not 100% sure as the pricing explanation of global distribution options is a bit confusing, but it should be 18 euros or lower.

>> No.15507217 [View]

>>15502583
Brief update. I'm currently checking the draft over a second time to get it all consistent and smooth. I've set up an ISBN and such so that it can be properly published, it's some rights reserved creative commons. I'll have the final version ready later this afternoon, at which point I'll convert it to pdf and upload to Lulu. At that point I can order a proof copy, see how it looks in print, and if no big changes are needed it can approve it for sale.
>>15506278
A toast to you, the dear authors.

Kingslayer/dreamer was the one to honour you with that intro. Samuel pepys was one of my favourite pieces, no problem on keeping the formatting, it was too good to butcher. I appreciate the sentiment but no gift is necessary, life has treated me kindly enough, if one person purchases the book and enjoys reading it that will be gift aplenty.

So just finished the remainder of the pages. Now I'm going to head off for bed, I'll check in tomorrow morning to get it all sent off to Lulu. Thanks for everyones contributions to this project, especially everyone who's stuck around to provide feedback for editing and such. Lots of great writers here, if you ever meet a manic Irishman with dashing good looks I'll buy you a drink.

Further clarification of what "Global distribution" means to Lulu since I explained poorly. If we publish just with Lulu it can still be shipped globaly for decent prices (that includes Europe, New Zealand, and other exotic locations). If we choose the "Global distribution" option it will still be available on Lulu, but it will also be distributed to other bookshops such as Amazon and Barnes&Noble. Amazon charges higher fees, but you'll still be able to buy it from Lulu for the proper price. I'll choose global distribution because more markets is good, but when it does get released do buy it from Lulu as that will be the cheapest option. As far as I can tell, Amazon and Lulu service the same locations, so it really is just a matter of being able to present the book to a wider audience.
>>15503370

Should be finished with this tonight, in this linked document I'm up to page 618, so about 80 pages left.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sZPFSoQMa3lD3J3A54jZxcilEzpdnPic/view?usp=sharing
Mistakes: almost certainly! Check through the doc and tell me if you see any retarded changes. In general spelling and grammar corrections were reserved for serious posts which were trying to make a point, so there were relatively few. The bulk of the changes are formatting. Download doc to open in word to check that (google docs works if you just want to check the writing).
Now, I'm going to get to work on finishing that for upload later tonight. While I do that, here's some points to discuss for publishing (using lulu):
- Paper type: 60# Cream, 60# White, or 80# Coated white? 80 is a couple euros more expensive, 60 cream and white cost the same.
- Global distribution: yes or no? I don't think there's any harm in putting up for global distribution (that is, as well as being on lulu, it is sold on amazon and bookstores), but it would need an ISBN then.
- Title: The marketed title, not the one on the cover. "Coronameron", full caps, with ":volume 1 - 3"? "Volume..." as subtitle? Category is unimportant, fiction - general will be chosen.
- Edition: Also unimportant, but if you want there's options there.
- Contributors: You can list 5, as i see it just "Author: Anonymous"
Discuss and tell me I've made retarded changes while I get this finished.

Still alive, poured water into my cereal this morning so a bit tired, but still alive and working. At this point in the book I don't think any more editors are necessary, it's really just easily formatted shitposts, but thankyou for the offer.

>> No.15435591 [View]

>>15434129
Yeah don't think I got around to formatting that bit yet, hence why it looks a bit ass. Clearly some shitter went and made a few changes, it's happened to a few pieces, I'll get it changed back to the original.
>>15435245
As I said in the post in which I linked that .docx, formatted up to 120 pages. "Talk like an accelerationist" is towards the end. I've removed nothing besides defunct meta-conversations, and I've mostly kept grammar/spelling changes to serious posts. Read the post properly before making editorial suggestions, but suggestions on the first 120 pages from that doc are welcome.
>>15435081

Alright I double checked this and I think it's just word being autistic with double page view. If you use single page and just look at the gutter positioning, page 1 and all the other odd pages are recto. Fonts have been fixed.
>>15371621
In other news, I'll hit 200 pages formatted tonight. Going a bit slower than I planned to, sorry about that. I did say hopefully finished end of this week, the more realistic estimate is end of next week/mid week after that. Terribly sorry that you anons will have to wait longer than originally stated, reading and changing words on a screen for multiple hours a day is surprisingly fatigue inducing.

Yeah it seems no mentions of /lit/ is what most people want, I'll rectify the relevant bits in the first few pages in the morning. If you could make a cover without the /lit/ on it that would be great, thanks. I have no opinions on a fake publisher name, I think just "literature" would do well.
>>15403372
Ah good catch anon, that was a mistake on my part, I'll get it fixed.
