This is the best reason to take a fiction class.

Well done, anon. You're doing it right.

if becoming a jelly sandwich has given you licence to succumb to your baser instincts and project into fictional trysts and affairs, go with god and be happy.

Right now fisting Smurfette is about as plausible to you as having sex with a woman in the missionary position. I can't even tell you how many times I fantasise about banging women I meet but never will. Is dwelling on your perversions and obsessing about what-can-never-be what you want to be doing in your short life?

Protip: If you write fanfiction, then change the character's names, it becomes original fiction.

I've been pondering the success of this book too.

I think it has more to to with justifying capitalism, thus congratulating us for the great job we're doing making lots and lots of money for wealthy people.

So, no, i don't think it's "classic" status is due to quality of prose.

\they've probably learned only to talk about things they know something about, and have moderate and measured opinions on it. it's easy to do once you know the tricks.

cool your jets, lad.
He's not wrong that challenging yourself extends your boundaries. I consciously choose books that I feel will enlighten me rather than simply massage my fantasies.

I don't really know what working class means or entails, especially as it was a distinction devised to describe types of professional illnesses.

I know people who read a lot of fantasy.

Does this count?
(I don't rate it but at least they are running their eyes across a page for a few hours a week.)

I saw it in London. It was good. I dread going to musicals because they always go for too long and become boring. Wicked was a good length so I wasn't sitting there rolling my eyes.

I've since heard the Broadway soundtrack and I think that elphaba (???) in the UK production has a better voice, but it may just be livemusic-omg-migusta bias
