Sometimes dreams give me an idea but they never write for me. They help when I have writer's block.

hey dudes.
let's all read a short story and talk about it, and maybe post mfw pics next to cool sentences. You'll have to find a way to read the story by either owning the book or maybe torrenting it. Maybe it's on a website somewhere on this vast thing we call an internet. Anyway, find it read it enjoy it.

The story is called "Car Crash While Hitchhiking" by Denis Johnson. It's in the collection Jesus' Son.

If anyone finds a link with this story on it, post it por favor.

Yeah I was going to say do a story about osama's revenge. Like have a terrorist who wants to revenege osama go to a circus where he wants to blow up the crowd. But he becomes fixated on the scene around him: the elephants dancing, the clowns scaring the children, the ring leader in the middle obscured by the cornucopia of the circus. The terrorist decides not to blow it all up, or maybe he'll do it in the parking lot. Then ironically he chokes on popcorn and dies. The End. Hello Pushcart!

I read John Gardner's book and it was great. Between Stephen King and John Gardner, I would listen to the real author (John Gardner).

Get O'Connor's complete stories. You'll cover her in one book!

Faulkner of course. The old standards: The sound and the fury; Absalom, Absalom!; As I Lay Dying; Light in August; The Unvanquished. And some of his short stories.
He is the master of American fiction.

"It's been a prevalent notion. Fallen sparks. Fragments of vessels broken at the Creation. And someday, somehow, before the end, a gathering back to home. A messenger from the Kingdom, arriving at the last moment. But I tell you there is no such message, no such home -- only the millions of last moments . . . nothing more. Our history is an aggregate of last moments."

Who said it? Should be easy based on syntax.

Hmm. Maybe the act of reading is what makes her cute? When I see a cute girl reading, I should try to block the book with my hand so it doesn't warp my perception of her. Of course I'll have sex with anything (female) that has read and enjoyed southern goth lit so this is probably a failed endeavor...

Also I think everyone can appreciate good art if presented succinctly since everyone wonders about their own mortality and art has some form of purpose (at least I thik) in communicating and dealing with finite amount of time.

but I use Dr. Steve Brule's axioms constantly throughout my days.
