the "big" ones are Garden of Forking Paths, Library of Babel, Funes the Memorious (sometimes: Funes, His Memory).

i liked it all but it seems my memory of them has faded a bit or i would be able to help more.

The Immortal is one of my all-time favorite Borges works that I never see mentioned.

Funes is up there too, also strangely underrated on this board.

Theme of the Traitor and The Hero
The Secret Miracle
Deutsches Requiem
The Maker
The Witness
Ragnarok

The last two are prose poems, not "stories", but still wonderful and an interesting contrast to his usual stuff. Also, his essays are not to be passed over.

I love "The Other." Such an interesting story, and I think it's one of Borges' best in terms of pure prose style.

Honestly?

If you have to pick a writer to define our generation, I think it would be Borges.

Constantly juggling with questions of identity and importance. Wandering in labyrinths not knowing if there is anything awaiting us at the center, or even if there IS a center. Living a rough, run down existence in a rough, run down world.

And of course, Borges' works are the perfect length for our generation's attention spans. A snippet of Borges means more to our ADD-addled minds than any novel could.

Been reading Borges and loving him, now looking for writers who sort of examine his preferred subject and theme. That is, I'm looking for writers that explore the boundaries between the mundane and the supernatural, writers that make their home in the twilight zone where the normal and the otherworldly seem to bleed into each other.

I suppose I ought to check out the other magical realism authors, but who else?
