just picked up a book and started reading again for longer than five minutes for the first time in months, i'm so fucking happy. being addicted to constantly refreshing 4chan and reading tiny snippets/short stories online and occasionally trying to write without actually intaking anything substantial for my literary diet was killing me inside. i forgot how great it was to just sit down and read uninterrupted from a grand, overarching narrative that promises to continue and doesn't just end immediately. and now I don't want my life to end immediately (not at least until i finish this book)

i've been trying to finish it for years, started during the first part of the pandemic when i had Infinite Time for Infinite Length
i'm only on page 104 but 26 of those pages came today (i previously got to page 135 or something during that first attempt in 2020 but when i picked the book back up again at the end of 2021 i started over because can you fucking blame me)

I managed to sit 12 hours reading a Wuxia tier /qst/ out of nowhere, felt so good. Legit, if you like Warhammer and Imperial China, read 2nd Primarch Quest.

Best books on the joy of reading? I want to partake in OP's euphoria.

just pick up a book and start reading, find that one you've been putting off and just crush through some of it
a book about how great it is to read seems a bit redundant desu
