Any read all their books on a computer with a black background and white text? I've done this for so long I can't read normal books anymore. It hurts my eyes it's like using a light mode. Ruins the immersion entirely. It's quite annoying actually that I can't read physical books.

You have severe brain damage. Buy an ereader.

I find it easier to read and understand when the text is compacted in a smaller space. My eyes hurt having to move through a large screen. Anyways the kindle offers a black background and white-text. However, I've noticed that the text isn't as sharp on a black background as opposed to a laptop.

use black text on beige background and read in a decently lit room. black background is for fucking retards who read in darkness and are surprised that it's uncomfortable to look at a white background. also get an ereader for things you don't need to read on a computer screen.

you can't really change the pdf's layout but you can at least recolor them on the fly. zathura can do this

It's more charcoal or slate than black.

You guys all agree black background is weirdly more immersive right? With the white background it feels like watching a movie with the lights on. Takes you out of it.

I forget where, but I read that it's actually easier and better for readers to read white text on a black background. The reason text is traditionally in black is for obvious reasons of saving the cost of inking out the whole page except the text.
