IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE IT'S HERE

The long wait is over and our beautiful edition of Moby-Dick is finally available in digital and print. The book costs $13.28 USD which is the minimum price lulu will allow me to sell it for. I make 0 (zero) profits off of this book. The ebook is free and I have uploaded it to libgen and z-library already. Links are below. Searching for the book in libgen and zlib yielded no results, so I will be putting the links in the goodreads review. It's possible that they need time to process but if someone is more familiar with uploading .pdfs to those sites feel free to do so. If for some reason you don't want to click on any of these links, email mobydickbylit@pm.me and I will send you the .pdf of the book and a cover .jpg if you would like. Thank you to everyone who contributed and my sincere apologies for taking an unacceptably long time to come out with this bastard.

With this book you're not just getting the book itself, you're getting, essentially, a /lit/ time-capsule; long after this site is gone or perhaps long after you've left (or perhaps you didn't leave at all; maybe we left; maybe the anons you once knew are gone, a new generation has moved in and slowly replaced the oldfags, like the oldfags themselves did when they were new), when you're an old man, you'll find this copy sitting on your bookshelf. You'll pick it up and the memories, good and bad, will come back. You will remember the laughs that were had, you will remember the faceless friends that were made. Never again in all the world will this community exist the way it does now. Like all communities, it will degrade, die, be reborn, but never exactly the way it was before. This book will help you to remember, however fleeting the memories be, we anons gathered here today. Here's to the never-ending march of time, the passing of youth, and the joy of faceless friends.

Great stuff, anon! another /lit/ classic! You can see a lot of effort (+ shitposting) went into it, and even more so in editing it to a print-ready object: a Book. I'm glad that, despite the wait, it came through. Even then, there will always be some minor errors, or some reservations (I don't know if I would have double-spaced between sentences; perhaps a more prominent title page would have been nice), but that's negligible.

LaTeX gets more comfortable the more you use it. The problem is that doing things you've never tried is difficult, but once you learn them, it's easy to do them well.

>Your letter was handed me last night on the road going to Mr. Morewood's, and I read it there. Had I been at home, I would have sat down at once and answered it. In me divine maganimities are spontaneous and instantaneous -- catch them while you can. The world goes round, and the other side comes up. So now I can't write what I felt. But I felt pantheistic then -- your heart beat in my ribs and mine in yours, and both in God's. A sense of unspeakable security is in me this moment, on account of your having understood the book. I have written a wicked book, and feel spotless as the lamb. Ineffable socialities are in me. I would sit down and dine with you and all the gods in old Rome's Pantheon. It is a strange feeling -- no hopefulness is in it, no despair. Content -- that is it; and irresponsibility; but without licentious inclination. I speak now of my profoundest sense of being, not of an incidental feeling.

>Whence come you, Hawthorne? By what right do you drink from my flagon of life? And when I put it to my lips -- lo, they are yours and not mine. I feel that the Godhead is broken up like the bread at the Supper, and that we are the pieces. Hence this infinite fraternity of feeling. Now, sympathizing with the paper, my angel turns over another page. you did not care a penny for the book. But, now and then as you read, you understood the pervading thought that impelled the book -- and that you praised. Was it not so? You were archangel enough to despise the imperfect body, and embrace the soul. Once you hugged the ugly Socrates because you saw the flame in the mouth, and heard the rushing of the demon, -- the familiar, -- and recognized the sound; for you have heard it in your own solitudes.

>My dear Hawthorne, the atmospheric skepticisms steal into me now, and make me doubtful of my sanity in writing you thus. But, believe me, I am not mad, most noble Festus! But truth is ever incoherent, and when the big hearts strike together, the concussion is a little stunning. Farewell. Don't write a word about the book. That would be robbing me of my miserly delight. I am heartily sorry I ever wrote anything about you -- it was paltry. Lord, when shall we be done growing? As long as we have anything more to do, we have done nothing. So,now, let us add Moby Dick to our blessing, and step from that. Leviathan is not the biggest fish; -- I have heard of Krakens.

Man, why were even Melville's letters so kino? It feels like writing just comes so naturally for him. I also feel super bad since it really felt like Hawthorne never shared the same passion that Melville did.

How many other sites are even capable of doing something this magnificent? I'm half-tempted to buy a few extra copies of it and shove them in some of those little libraries that are strewn about the city, just so some completely uninitiated normalfags can get a taste of this genius.

I think you mean unauthored or authorless. The word unauthorized means without authority/permission. An embarrassing mistake right there on the cover for everyone to see. Not a sign of quality.

The preface [1] was funny - I laughed.
The rest: boring [2]; some nonsenseetymologiae [3] about whales (irrelevant) [4], and a series of footnotes (no Plato???)*.

To conclude, I'd rate it zero out of five: compleat wastage & an insult to those of us with tastebuds.

*Start with the Greeks

[1] An amusing, and invented, story about the production of the text.
[2] Objectively.
[3] Do you see?
[4] The book by Melville is not about whales; it is about business. The world is a business. The whale represents (symbolilacally) the corporate slang for a bountiful sales prospect, e.g. a naive venture capitalist, or, in the case of Melvilles's original Calvinesque pampflit, a soon-to-be-deceased relative for which the favour of would mean a bountiful inheritance to invest into one's own corporeation.
