I enjoyed Non-Compromised Pendulum, thanks for that anon.

A fighter's heart.
Non-fiction. Kinda good.

the fight by norman mailer is probably the most famous book about boxing
it's also an interesting read even if you have no interest in boxing whatsoever

You already know, anon, because you posted who you should read. Fall with your punches and land your fist into their face. Learning how to punch is all boxing is good for.

I never heard of that. Cus D'Amato.

I'm checking it out right now (English-language edition is free online).

Cus was Mike Tyson's mentor, trainer, and father figure. His passing when Mike was just getting big was one of the great boxing disasters of all time. That Mike's pulled through (and essentially finished raising himself) is amazing. I'll always be a fan of Iron Mike.

Though to be honest the boxing was less interesting than the parts about reform school and being a juvenile delinquent in depression era Lower East Side of Manhattan long before gentrification. Sporadically funny too.

As fighter this book helped me out a lot. But it is not a book about boxing. Although if you read it you may understand boxing more.

Are any of the recommendations above noob friendly? I'm not a boxing fan at all but I'm curious about it and want something to get me into it. Where should one start?
