yeah i have to agree. there is very little pretentiousness with tao lin. complete opposite of my initial impression of him. he is a little daft and definitely does too many drugs, but he is doing the best he can and (at the moment, can't speak for his earlier works) is doing so without irony.

Tao seems to be doing well. Rather happy for him to be sincere. Glad he's off the pharmaceuticals, he seemed like a trainwreck waiting to happen in the Taipei days.
