Not starting from zero in a fantasy setting that probably isn't that interesting anyway, naturally leading to the 'action' of the story beginning sooner. maybe even in media ras. References to warriors or kings may actually have their stories told instead of being throw away names in order to make the world and conversations more realistic.
Sounds like world-building done right desu.
