Mirasaki Shinkibu, Tanizaki, Soseki, Mishima, Dazai, Oe, Abe, and Haruki Murakami.

Shintaro Ishihara (dude's a modern Mishima), Hideo Levy, and Kenji Nakagami are also interesting, but I don't know how available thier stuff is in English.
