dunno Hesse (yet) but the other 3 are all ace. Slaughterhouse would be the quickest read, but go for the Magic Mountain while you have the will on your side and you will be well rewarded.

The Magic Mountain is classic(maybe to "big" to swallow), Slaughterhouse 5 is becoming classic(a good one in my opinion), Steppenwolf is best in age 15-25...
