>Finally the biggest point, I feel, is that the author Camus DOES NOT mention the afterlife, or even the slight mention whether there is an afterlife, or even a quick question from a guy who is about to be executed about what is going to happen after he dies. Duh! It doesn't matter how athiest or existentialist you are... THE MAJORITY of people, when they are about to be executed (for murder none the less) will ask, at least once, "what happens after I die." He has no conviction, no sorrow, no guilt, no heart, no soul. No second thoughts. And definitly NO FEARS of death? NO FEAR of an afterlife? Not even a question about it. Seems the book was written way too unrealistically.

FDR adopted the idea as U.S. policy, and the U.S. government now has a $2.6-trillion annual budget and an $8-trillion dollar debt.

This is what they said about this book.

>On Lolita

> I don't get why everyone loves this book. It's pathetic why some men are perverts, allowed to roam the streets. Lola is the face of every little girl in this country who watches adult television, believing they are mature beyond their years, until they are faced with adult situations, then cry, wishing they could get their childhoods back. All because of bad parenting.

I FUCKING MAD

>On the Origin of Species

>1. I'm not a scientist but I know enough about science to know that this book was, admittedly (as in, the author admitted to) 70-80% speculation. That is NOT science.
>2. This guy's theories are fantasy about a world populating itself without a creator.

>Pride and Prejudice

>seriously. this book's suck..the characters were lame and annoying, the story line was weak. sorry ms. austen, this is almost the worst book i ever finished!! lol.. usually i dropped sucky books n stopped mid book, but i promised to finish this one...urgh..stupid mistake

Oh, and a 5-star review of Bringing up Boys...

>THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! must-must-must read for anyone with sons OR daughters. you will not ever be the same. Ryan picked it up and read it first, now i'm working on it. love the christian and non-lds approach. love that he delves into such not politically correct issues like working mothers & homosexuality. i've already high-lighted the heck out of it, will be referencing back to it often, i'm sure.

>I put this book down 1/4 of the way through it. I got tired of the ugly, mean, evil characters. I thought about reading through it to see if it got better but if the part of the book I did read is any indication of the rest, I don't want to waster my time. The images I have in my head from what I read are not what I deem 'virtous, of good report or praiseworthy."

I didn't find it particularly insulting. It was a bunch of stuff that he did. I mean, unless he didn't actually do any of those things, in which case I'm more confused than angry.

Seriously, you're going to have to spell this one out for me.

>Richard Nixon is gone now and I am poorer for it. He was the real thing--a political monster straight out of Grendel and a very dangerous enemy. He could shake your hand and stab you in the back at the same time. He lied to his friends and betrayed the trust of his family. Not even Gerald Ford, the unhappy ex-president who pardoned Nixon and kept him out of prison, was immune to the evil fallout. Ford, who believes strongly in Heaven and Hell, has told more than one of his celebrity golf partners that I know Iwill go to hell, because I pardoned Richard Nixon."

>If the right people had been in charge of Nixon's funeral, his casket would have been launched into one of those open-sewage canals that empty into the ocean just south of Los Angeles. He was a swine of a man and a jabbering dupe of a president. Nixon was so crooked that he needed servants to help him screw his pants on every morning. Even his funeral was illegal. He was queer in the deepest way. His body should have been burned in a trash bin.

Late brilliance.

Bullshit. It's gold standard name-calling if that's the case.

>I have had my own bloody relationship with Nixon for many years, but I am not worried about it landing me in hell with him. I have already been there with that bastard, and I am a better person for it. Nixon had the unique ability to make his enemies seem honorable, and we developed a keen sense of fraternity. Some of my best friends have hated Nixon all their lives. My mother hates Nixon, my son hates Nixon, I hate Nixon, and this hatred has brought us together.

It sits better with me on the second viewing but some quotes like "by the late 70s, he was rich and irrelevant, a sacred cow of the literary scene," are a little disrespectful and there is a persisting negative tone. It's not a scathing critique of his life, but it is not in particularly good taste considering, I assume, that this was aired very soon after his death. I'm not the typical "FAUX NEWS" person and I don't like Vonnegut, but I still feel it was not totally appropriate.
