Not OP, but it's great. It not only discusses human history from the perspective of a historian, but it dissects it through a biological and philosophical lens as well, with some pretty interesting point about religion. Very easy read too, it's over 400 pages but I'd read it within a week.

I also was sceptical at first, but it has some interesting stuff in it, a lot of interesting anthropological ideas, as previous anons already said it's a super light read as well (and funny at times), read it in one weekend.
