I come to humbly request advice frmo the great minds at /lit/. Sorry for the wall of text.

I have a summer assignment. I have read the material and I have already begun the essay. Here is the prompt:

"Read Macbeth by Shakespeare. Write a 3 page essay on the following topic: the Gunpowder Plot of 1605 was a plan to assassinat eKing James I. Research ita nd write a research paper about regicide and its consequences, using the case of Macbeth and Duncan asa n example."

How would you personally organize this paper? I have an introduction and have summarized the events and downfall of the Gunpowder Plot, and I'm thinking of going into the cosnequences and linking it to Macbeth from there. I feel that this may not be the best method,t hough. Thoughts? Any help wolud be greatly appreciaetd.

just split up with my gf, so been working on it a lot. When i was with her I just wrote bitter fucking short stories. 33,783 words and still going strong, only a quarter of the way through so far. I think it's going really well

My problem with writing a novel is the story arc and pacing.

Short Stories have small arcs and are easy to manage. With a novel, I have trouble knowing when to have a lull between the most important plot points and when to build characters.
