I won't lie, long. Of all the Western european languages it is probably the hardest to learn, it's grammatical structure is really confusing and the German used in Faust fairly antiquated. But Faust differs so hugely in Quality from the original to all translations you won't ne able appreciate its full beauty in any other language.
