Mosaic Law only forbade homosexuality due to spread of infectious diseases in the wilderness. Literally on the level of "do not wear clothing of more than one material" and "do not eat ought from the ocean that does not have scales". Christianity forbade homosexuality in order to push a political agenda.

With protective sex, there is literally no more reason to hate homosexuality than there is to hate non-procreative straight sex. Both are equally degenerate.

I think Robert Gagnon gives the most thorough account of why Biblical teaching forbids homosexual behaviour. He's a biblical scholar, rather than theologian, but his work is detailed and knowledgable. When I read him I want to disagree, but don't feel equipped to make an argument against him. I mean, I tend to favour the idea that, in ancient Israel, there was no such thing as homosexuality as an identity, so the prohibition against buggery doesn't consider a monogamous and committed homosexual relationship. Gagnon uses detailed readings of the Greek to dismantle such an argument. I can't tell you if he's right, but he does seem to know his shit.
