in england, no writers are important.

That's not true, England loves this writer!

In New Zealand all writers are important. They have literary magazines, quite a few national competitions (for a small country), many small presses and days for specific types of literature: poetry day, short-story day et cetera. It's also quite respected, as is music in New Zealand.

Problem is, none of it is good.

That's because the only Australian writer worth reading is Ernest Lalor Malley, author of "The Darkening Ecliptic."

¡Viva Ern!

Australia fails at appreciating anything because it's full of fucking bogans too busy drinking beer and watching television. I fucking hate this country and it's white-trash-as-default culture. Fuck it.

I KNOW MAN, I KNOW.

I MAJOR IN ACCOUNTING, AND THE NUMBER OF AUSTRALIANS THAT STUDY IT IS APPALLING. THERE ARE SO MANY JOBS ON OFFER FOR IT, BUT IT'S ONLY THE INTERNATIONALS WHO REALLY WANT TO DO IT, AND THAT'S MAINLY FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY.

I'M YET TO MEET ANOTHER PERSON WHO GENUINELY LIKES ACCOUNTING.

In America, writers are important once they get movies made based on their books.

France loves it's writers because the French are so far up their own arses that they adore absolutely everything their awful culture shits out.

Ever wonder why French cinema is only big in France?

British writers are cherished and criticized alike in Britain, because the British feel no motivation through patriotism for crass cultural nepotism anymore.

Nobody except polished shoe-wearing stiffs and social retards like accounting. Even most aspies would avoid it.

Holy fuck don't get me started on accounting. I went to high school with this one guy and all he wanted to do was be an accountant like his dad so he could earn 'fuckloads of money'. I'd always ask him why he wanted to do it and that's all he could give me. Why would you do something you aren't even interested in just for money? Not to mention all these stupid kids thinking they'll be on six figures by the time they're 25 are sorely deluded. I suppose I can't complain at least they're doing something with their lives unlike the fucking zombie horde of bogans that loiter outside shopping centres like they're about to flash mob some zombie street art

I AM ACTUALLY INTERESTED IN ACCOUNTING. HOWEVER, I'M THINKING OF VEERING MORE TOWARDS TAXATION, IT INTERESTS ME MORE THAN A LOT OF THE OTHER SPECIALISATIONS WITHIN ACCOUNTING.

OH, AND AN ACCOUNTING DEGREE IS VERY HANDY TO HAVE AS EVEN IF LATER ON I DON'T WISH TO CONTINUE ON THIS FIELD, IT'S MUCH EASIER TO GET A JOB IN OTHER ASPECTS OF BUSINESS, COMPARED TO A MARKETING MAJOR FOR INSTANCE.

I'VE ALWAYS ENJOYED PROBLEM SOLVING, AND A LARGE ASPECT OF ACCOUNTING INVOLVES THAT.

YOU THINK I'M JUST GOING TO BE A NUMBER CRUNCHER? FUCK THAT SHIT. I WON'T BE DOING YOUR MUM AND DAD'S TAX RETURNS, I MEAN ACTUALLY WORKING FOR A FIRM.

I GOT OFFERED AN INTERNSHIP WITH A MID-TIER ACCOUNTING FIRM JUST LAST WEEK. SOLELY BECAUSE MY MATE'S GOOD FRIENDS WITH ONE OF THE FOUNDING BOSSES.
