brfags and portugas, what is your preferred portuguese translation of the bible? I'm finishing the KJV (in english of course) and was looking for one in portuguese now to re-read some of the books. went out looking for the joão ferreira de almeida's translation, but only could find the "modern language edition", in which they mutilated the original translation, 100% disgusting

OP here, guess I will buy Almeida Revista e Corrigida, have read its the first translation of the original Almeida's to brazilian portuguese and that it is to portuguese what KJV is to english, and indeed, have been comparing some parts and they are very similar

OP aqui, anon, achei no site da sociedade bíblica do brasil uma bíblia traduzida pelo Almeida por 12 contos. É a Almeida Revista e Corrigida (não sei se tu manja, mas a tradução do Almeida foi a primeira tradução da bíblia a partir dos livros originais para português [de portugal]). Essa Almeida Revista e Corrigida é a mais próxima da original, e todas as outras versões mais populares da tradução do Almeida, como a Revista e Atualizada ou Revista Fiel.

Porém, por ser mais próxima da original, ela é mais arcaica, mais complexa, quase ilegível para o seu 'regular-normie'.

acabei de comprar a minha, é uma das melhores versões da bíblia, e essa edição além de ser bem baratinha não é tão feia. Se tiver interessado só ir no site do sbb e procurar Almeida Revista Corrigida. abraço
