18, haven't really read since the start of high school. What should I start with to get back into it < ?

I also have actual paperbacks of (my native) David Hume - An enquiry concerning Human Understanding & Adam Smith - Wealth of Nations.

What a magnificent sentence, almost Camus-esque in its absurdity. I love it.

OP: see pic. Start with the "modern" stuff. Not Joyce.

Thank you. I think modern stuff would be a good place to start as my attention-span had really dropped during this period. The Republic was horrible for me to read, though I think I was using a bad translation.

I'll have a look at some summaries right now. Pic is what I've actually read from the OP anyway.
