Why are so many low-effort plebs attracted to postmodernism?

They tend to be self-described geniuses, but never deliver when their imaginary brilliance is tested. When fans praise "difficult" postmodern authors such as David Foster Wallace, McElroy, Pynchon, Vollmann, etc, they are completely incapable of describing the contents of the novels they supposedly read and enjoyed. Why?

They'll say useless things like "Read it and find out.", "It's indescribable.", "It can't be compared to mainstream literature", and so on, instead of providing a mood and context from their own experience, which gives the feeling that they're pseuds who never actually read the work, and are really giving empty, blind praise that they read off of Goodreads, Amazon, or Wikipedia.

Why do they act as though postmodern authors are beyond reproof? And what is it about postmodernist literature that encourages such indolent behavior?

Why are so many low-effort plebs attracted to empty criticisms postmodernism?

They tend to be self-described geniuses, but never deliver when their imaginary brilliance is tested. When fans praise "difficult" anti-postmodern authors such as Jordan Peterson, Sam Harris, Mike Cernovich, etc, they are completely incapable of describing the contents of these youtubes they supposedly listened to and enjoyed. Why?

They'll say useless things like "Listen to it and find out.", "It's indescribable.", "Rescue your Father", and so on, instead of providing a mood and context from their own experience, which gives the feeling that they're pseuds who never actually read the work, and are really giving empty, blind praise that they read off of youtube comments or tweets.

Why do they act as though anti-postmodern twitter celebrities are beyond reproof? And what is it about anti-postmodernist media that encourages such indolent behavior?
