Sup /lit/. I'm struggling with some anxiety/depression atm and it's killing my appetite, mood and overall enjoyment of life. What can I read that will help me?

Books won't help you. If you really are depressed you need therapy. It doesn't look like you are.

Because it looks like you think books will make you feel better. That is something strange to see in a depressed person: there is something that can make me feel better.
When there is no light at the tunnel, that's depression. It has no object, that's why no external object can help a depressed person.

I see. I suppose I am more anxious than depressed but the anxiety is making me feel really down in the dumps.

Do you want something to entertain you? To take your mind off of everything? The Discworld series is very uplifting. Great escapism.

I was feeling very anxious and depressed a few months ago - to the extent that I found it hard to get out of bed at all. I blitzed through Always Sunny in Philadelphia (I know it's a tv show but bear with me). It was really helpful because usually in sitcoms & tv shows the main characters start off pretty rough but their lives get better as time goes on, making you reflect on your own life and how shit and unproductive you are in comparison. In Always Sunny everyone is an asshole and their lives never improve. Also after watching loads of episodes they start to feel like your friends. It's a good show for the miserable.

Also if you have free healthcare get some counselling because that will actually help you. You'll learn how to deal with self destructive behaviour and depressive moods.
