Watch anime instead. Stop confining yourself to one medium you absolute sophomore.
Watch E7. It's really all on Earth but I think it fits what you are looking for. If you are unfamiliar with the genre, a lot of what makes it enjoyable might fly over. Its romance might not appeal to those concerned with realism (as if Romantic romance really occurs).

Most of what you are asking for will be pulp, as literary science fiction tends to be.
