Learn to laugh about it. Step back when ever you feel anxious and you'll see how silly it all is. That's not to say you can't find meaning, but that the journey to that meaning nowadays can take wacky turns.

>> No.9431116

For one, it helps to hitch someone else's wagon to your own. The only way to feel useful in this world is to be the life boat to someone who has not quite managed to feel the futility and emptiness of it all yet.

Then again, I'm a heroin addict with no friends or family, so what do I know lol

I meditate regularly which seems to help, better if you approach it from a "religious" standpoint too than a wank secular one.

This helps too, recognize that the world is inherently surreal and abstract and not to take things seriously
In this way I find Buddhism very fitting in the modern western world

You need to "create" or "mold" yourself to an image of your ideal self and set out ways to achieve it.
Then you start progressing and start enjoying a new lifestyle where you give meaning to your life by constantly trying to become the ideal as an objective.

You also need to add some 'mysticism' into it though, having a fully materialistic cosmo-vision is both boring and a very ignorant/obtuse way to look at things, because you are ruling out all that is not inherently chemical/physical in your body and life. It's not necessarily believing in God either, but it can be Buddhism, taking Psychedelics, Magick or whatever.

I'd say you also need to face your demons, since I'd say that the post-modern social life has made it harder on us to always project our good side and the disconnection between both makes people more irritable and immature. It's generally knowing yourself to the point where you understand all your weakness and don't hide under insecurities. I'd say that's the easiest step for most people on 4chan, since they have a lot of time for themselves so they should be able to at least notice when they react badly to something and follow the process to understand why.

Finally, have at least a semi-healthy lifestyle. It's not about powerlifting every day and trying to become the narcissistic /fit/ type, but at least eating well, quitting hard drugs and going out often enough.

I know this feeling all too well. I can't stand modern life or society, and nothing depresses me more than the idea of a " normal " life here.

Only thing I've found that helps is to gain purpose. I've found my purpose in leaving Canada for good and moving to Eastern Europe. So I'm currently working backbreaking physical labour to save up enough to make a safe move. If everything goes according to plan in 2 years I'll be in Europe working an unconventional job supporting myself and travelling the world for months at a time. After I actually make it to Europe my goal will change to seeing as much of the world as I can, once that bores me I imagine I'll change gears to working towards a little hermitage in the woods of Eastern Europe where I can live the rest of my days in peace away from society and people, my only companion being my faithful hound and solitude.

Wanting has to go. Wanting to be free from something that is not there is what you call "sorrow.” Wanting to be free from sorrow is sorrow. There is no other sorrow. You don't want to be free from sorrow. You just think about sorrow, without acting. Your thinking endlessly about being free from sorrow is only more material for sorrow. Thinking does not put an end to sorrow. Sorrow is there for you as long as you think. There is actually no sorrow there to be free from. Thinking about and struggling against "sorrow" is sorrow. Since you can't stop thinking, and thinking is sorrow, you will always suffer. There is no way out, no escape.

By fighting back. Do small little acts of violence whenever possible. Always make sure it wont lead back to you and then cause the maximum damage that has the acceptable risk level of not getting caught. Focus on long term projects against your worst enemies and opportunistic possibilities with chance encounters of people that need suppression. The little things go along way. Putting nails in your ex's driveway, starting fires against bad businesses. Dumping buckets of paint into expensive cars with the windows down.
