When did you realise that lesbians are exempt from the maxim that women can't write?

>> No.9425833

Theyre not

But plently straight women can and do write well so this convo is going to descend into stupidity real soon

Woolf
Yourcenar
McCullers
Stein
Highsmith

It checks out.

Not really, and even if that's somewhat true, it's only true for the Anglo world. There are almost no great female authors in more complex languages

You know, that kind of makes sense

Though gay men have made a considerable contribution to lit so I don't know where that leaves us.

They actually are. Lesbians write better than faggots and both of those write better than straight men, who write better than straight women. Go be an idiot somewhere else.

The only latinamerican woman to win a Nobel was a lesbian, too.

>Japanese lit has no women
>certainly none lusting after the empress

i think because we're so outside of the sort of sissyphian tragedy of the west created by male sexuality, we have a really sober take on human nature that makes room for self deprecation and an honesty that doesn't require posturing or placating. lesbians operate outside of the limits of linear sexuality, and i think that offers a worldview that lends itself best to critique. at least among the lesbians that don't lack the strength of ego not to fall prey to the bullshit post-structuralist critique of society that's become a cancer on any possibility of contemporary literature

protip: being a lesbian doesn't make you a de facto good writer, lady

most linguists think it's because they cross registers, not because they're more honest or self deprecating. more honest is hardly an advantage in writers, and self deprecation is a lie if you're any good at all

>> No.9426808

>>9426792
nope, just lends a worldview that creates a number of really fantastic female writers

>> No.9426814

your ideas are contradictory, and not representative of good lesbian writers. fuck your virtue ethics.
