I first read that as JRT and almost laughed if you were comparing him to J.R. Tolkien but then realized it was Rowling.

He's known here in Mexico.
You're right he's not as popular as Rowling, but he has a dedicated fanbase, they read all the books he publishes. Even in my university (I studied literature) there are fans of him.
