Recommend me depressing books /lit/

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich and Man's Search for Meaning seem like companion books to me. One just takes place with Nazis and the other with Communists. So you might like it.

depends what you'd consider depressing
I know a few books that deal with potentially depressing things
>Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
>Tombstone: The Untold Story of Mao's Great Famine

That book is not depressing at all. It's a carefully crafted trick to make you believe in his pseudo-science of logotherapy or something like that.

Read Poor Folks by Dostoevsky. THAT is depressing.
