Crowley is almost exclusively read by plebs but you have to be a patrician to appreciate him. Sad that he's such a caricature now. If you understand alchemy and cabala and have read the primary sources you see what a genius he really was.

They are ENJOYABLE exactly because of their mediocrity. The stuff of a nicely turned rap lyric, today. They can be great fun (Hymn to Pan) but they contain what we now understand to be "cringey" if done wrong. He honestly isn't that good of a writer, though, he was merely a quotable obsessive who took the trouble to meme his texts to the point that scholars, who must first of all have texts, are increasingly looking at his work these decades.
