after you made your way through the major guys one by one up until modern times, did you do it all over again, filling in gaps, or did you just revisit the stuff you really liked? or did you just move on from philosophy?

If you are interested in western civilization start with the Greeks, also read the bible. then you explore western philosophy like Kant and Hegel, and Nietzsche, and Wittgenstein, and schopenhauer , etc. Then you look for some slightly more modern philosophers and thinkers like Foucault, zizek, Chomsky or googly eyes. Then hopefully you develop your own way of thinking and meditate on everything you have learned, and then start asking your own questions.
Then maybe explore science or eastern philosophy
