you probably want something enticing like a video game. Horror is a good genre to get into because a lot of them you can read in the bright of day in the middle of a crowded hotspot and still feel creeped, and its even worse at night. HP lovecraft, stephen king, koontz, all good ones to visit. HP Lovecraft is a good starter because he is almost entirely short stories, so you can get a feel for it all real good.

The other genre id recomend would be the thriller or mystery type books, but i dont feel like expounding on that right now.
