>tfw I like imagining myself reading books more than I actually like reading books
Same for writing. Like-minded individuals get the fuck in here.

Sometimes I go to the park or a cafe, I put in my earphones and I stare at a book. I don't actually read it, I just stare at it and flip the pages. I'll generally listen to a podcast (Waking Up, Intelligence Squared, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, etc) so I don't get bored.

I want people to know that I read. I browse /lit/, wikipedia and SEP so I can impress women and other normies with my knowledge on literature and philosophy

Exactly, OP, the "books you enjoy having read" thing is so true. Ultimately all books are narcissistic barely disguised memoirs

Part of being an """intellectual""" requires you to turn off your BS detector and pretend that trivial boring nonsense isn't trivial boring nonsense

>> No.9080018

does /a/ get this bullshit? it can't just be books that pull these retards in

There is no benefit for pretending to be into anime, only pretending not to be into it.

>tfw like the idea of something more than the actual thing

Is this not all of us humans? Is this not the basis of all human desire?

anon, most of the books people pretend to have read are the kind of books that if you had read them you too would pretend not to have. unless you want to admit being a massive faggot or chronic masturbator, most pseudoreaders pick books which are the literary equivalent to admitting liking anime in terms of social suicide. at least /a/ knows they shouldn't talk to people, pseudoreaders are out there confessing their weird and disgusting fetishes without the benefit of even fapping to books about those fetishes, since that would require reading them.

I do this too, but I make sure to use open backed headphones. It drives the normies absolutely nuts.

You KNOW you're like minded with the OP, as well as everyone who "agrees" with you. Just admit it. That's step one in the path to enlightenment and inner peace and vast knowledge and wisdom.
