Hey /lit/
I recently started up extension english (16 year old australian) it's pretty difficult, but i think i can do it. Problem is, I missed the first term of it due to me doing a lower level of english.
What I need help with is just the basic elements of the Gothic genre.
My assessment task is:
Write a Gothic narrative that incorporates elements of the gothic genre (1500 - 1700 words)
I don't want you to answer the question, just need help with the understanding of the gothic genre, and how i could incorporate it.
thanks in advance.

There has to be a castle, suggestions of incest, and a lot of glaring and leering (these should be the default actions for any character). Also, wind and rain.

If you want to impress your teacher, you'll want to incorporate a story-within-story device (the narrative goes off on a tangent; it's usually a character recalling an event in first-person). They're sometimes tedious, other times interesting. I think Frankenstein had a few, and Lewis' The Monk had several. They're my personal favourites anyway.

Write about dark eyeshade, dog collars, fucked up haircuts, black nail polish, and chubby to fat ugly girls and skinny guys.

/sci/ is even worse about this because people are so quick to actually do others' math homework just to prove how smart they are. and they problem is almost always a simple integral
