Something is up with this board. It moves even slower than usual and half of the topics are barely concealed political bullshit. I though /lit/ was better than falling for this neckbeard egalitarian bullshit. We're beyond saving. So what are some /lit/ alternatives to discuss literature and philosophy?

i dont know about you, random anon that isnt op, but this thread is pretty emberassing amirite

i agree. a lot of posts from left and the right sides of politics trying to either bait people or tip this board to either side. getting sick and tired of it.

and i see people only blaming one side for it, but what they don't see that BOTH of them are really trying to push their agenda, and as an european who doesn't give a single fuck about their childish clashes and name calling, it's getting fucking annoying. how childish can your "political" talk get? i think the classic "get off my board reeeeee" applies here pretty well, thanks.

a certain amount of politics is inherent to literary discussion, left and right. it's just polposters who need to go.

either way it annoys me that there are so much people who want to make threads concerning modern politics here. i do agree that at least some political talk is inherent to literary discussion, but most of the threads are plain cancerous "trump this trump that" and stuff like comparing classic authors with modern political values, with clear bias.

anyway, good point.

Well that's where we're at now, and if you don't like that, go to reddit.

Good threads disappear fast. Usually when discussions get weird but thats what makes a good thread. Its not that different from reddit nowadays.

>> No.9049581

It's always been a fairly shitty, repetitive board. Most of us who've actually read more than a handful of books realized that after a year or two at most and only sparingly come back for the vaguely book-related shitposting while doing other things with our lives. Real discussion with people who actually know what they're talking about is fairly rare but that's the case with all of 4chan.

>>9049581
I think the weirdest part is that these meta threads seem to get more honest and critical replies than most threads on the board.
Sometimes I wonder if it's all bots. Maybe just retards. It's probably like five guys who make up 80% of the posts and it's merely an illusion that we've fooled ourselves into believing. No one actually posts here, they simply lend their unconscious minds to the hivemind for a little to receive their reward for social involvement in trashing books out of spite for their unfulfilled lives.
What's worse is that I know I am the same yet continue to post because it still works for me.
Huh.

I'm sorry I was too busy bullying some nerds and not existing in any meaningful form to you besides to let you believe that you and your input in this digital imageboard has any impact on existence or your fellow man thereby justifying your continued existence to yourself, what were you saying? There are no good threads to be made here because GamerGate brought a bunch of insufferable memed up faggot teenagers to this shithole.

>Hey guys I just read a good book, anyone wanna discuss?
>3 replies, archived within an hour, all responses are monosyllabic meme buzzwords like "cuck" and "shill"

Notice how most threads start with a question. Sure some are genuine you could tell although most are brain fat bloggers who need new material to fuel their ivory tower. They create a post and never follow up. The internet is now rendered into a sidewalk where we are all hookers or junkies hustling for scraps. You could say its 4chan look around yet its not that different anywhere else. Any sort of refreshing take is automatically vultured either by jealous manchildren or braindead memers.
