I wanted to journalism all along, i just thought maybe poli. sci would be a better option because then i wouldnt have to do co op. with another college in my area as my school doesnt offer it.

Did you mean minor?

It depends on your interests. Journalism will get you further than political science if you want to write on non-political topics. If you're torn, try double minoring and going with the one that you are interested in more.

While many people pursue degrees for the sake of career obtainment, that is a fairly unrealistic goal in modern society. You will most likely have a series of short term (1-10 year jobs) instead of one lifelong career, and should plan accordingly. What field do you have a more vast interest in?
Would you be happy writing on any topic you're assigned, or would you rather not focus on writing but generally work in public sector fields?
