Bernard Cornwell is a fairly decent meme writer.

His version of Arthur is the best by far.

Like every author that is constantly spitting out books, they're very formulaic and repetitive.

Which is why you only read the cream of the crop and disregard the rest.

If a writer is any good you shouldn't have to ignore 90% of his work.

I'm not saying he's a bad writer, but his books are big, there's tons of them and as was said, they can be repetitive, but that doesn't immediately invalidate his other works.

Regardless, what you said doesn't make much sense. What matters first is that his version of Arthur is great and that's reason enough to read, if you have the time for 1000+ pages.

I just started reading Sigrid Undset, shes like a patrician scandinavian version of him.

I also plan to read 1356 soon.

>mfw I actually read a Sharpe book

Cornwell is a hack who has benefited from flattering TV adaptations.

Thankfully there are plenty of interesting, poorly written "idea" books for the BBC, HBO, and Netflix to resurrect.

I really want to begin his Saxon series, with the Last Kingdom, how is it?
