Is there a point trying to write if youre not naturally gifted? Is there a way to tell if you are or arent?

Im only 18 but Ive tried writing before and it hasn't come very naturally, should I just not bother, only write as an emotional release, and keep it to myself?

No, give up

Don't write, we got enough writers in the world who write stupid shit. Only write if you think you are in the 0.0001% of the greatest writers ever lived on earth

just write for yourself if you enjoy it, maybe one day it'll be worth something but don't get your hopes up

If you're not immediately good at something then you should definitely just give up on it without bothering to practice

What ever does come naturally? Just start and keep doing it. My writing was insanely awful, I wouldn't be caught dead with it. I'm sure my writing now isn't "great" but it's mine and what you write is yours.
Recently graduated (college) and took creative writing as an elective last semester. The professor gave up halfway through the semester and would just show documentaries. What he did do was force deadlines and force us to write. Eventually with self taught knowledge and more reading my writing got better in my eyes and now im happy with it, but always getting better.

TL;DR Just start writing and you'll get better.
