>it's just some unfalsifiable system

Wow, I'm disappointed, just another unfalsifiable house of cards system for people to mentally masturbate over and try to promote or praise, resulting in more money and / or attention for themselves.

This is so fucking tiresome. Does literally any philosopher have anything non trivial to say?

Sorry Nietzsche was too complex for you.

This philosopher may be closer to your intellectual level.

Epic post, redditor.

Oh, it's the latter! Sad!

wrong forum 2bh. this forum is filled with fucking useless nerds who worship freddie.
you're right. philosophy is pretty much the most useless field in existence. it's just the olympics of rhetoric and a circlejerk haven for people who were too stupid to be nerds and too socially awkward to pursue any other field.

it's funny, part of Nietzsche's whole deal was the realization that we in the future, as a result of our nihilism, would be struck with the kind of paralyzing doubt that you're expressing here, OP.

the purpose of "will to power" and "eternal return" are not to communicate literal metaphysical claims, but to make you think the thought: what IF everything was will to power? what IF eternal return was the case?

you might find that you become stronger.

>Into the trash

Ah, a pleb reveals himself once again.

Let's see you try to defeat Feyerabend, let's go, buddy. I'm pretty sure we have had this fight multiple times before, even though we are anonymous, I know you are the man that I have fought the past few months.

Go on, let us battle, let us two intellectual giants fight to the death!

Not that guy, but looking for info before I check the book out: what does Feyerabend propose to replace methodological monism?

>> No.8937260

>>8937185
He proposes no alternative, rather, therapeutically he explains the absurdity of methodological monism in its disregard for the number of variables and possibilities it has to take into account in order for it to function. He also attacks Popperian falsificationism as historically we would have to put aside significant findings on the basis of their unfalsifiability or lack of methodological monism such as Galileo's findings. For Feyerabend, "anything goes" which is the famous saying attributed to him.

I think this causes a division within the scientific community between proponents of Feyerabend (people who tend to theorize or do anything) and those against Feyerabend (tend to be people who believe in falsifiability and are against the amount of funding certain institutions get).
