Because it's completely unremarkable and Murakami himself said that it was shit? Just because he got famous because of it doesn't mean that it's any good.

Because /iit/ used to be without racism and sexism, except for when new people came in batches. They always learned to be classier once they lurked for a while.

With the influx of summer morons and high-school students chronically masturbating while refreshing /lit/ all day, racism and sexism have reared their ugly head on this board, and no one is bothering to complain.

Although I agree with many of the sentiments expressed in this post, I think there are a few points that deserve to be made. First, I don't think it's true that no one have objected - there have been running battles over a lot of these issues. Second, keep in mind that it is possible, perhaps likely, that the board will return to 'normal' in September. Third, posting things like this really only feeds this shit because these people are the most blatant, stupidest fucking trolls ever - they have no style, no sophistication, and all they really want to do is make shitty posts.

And I agree with much of this post. OTOH I've stopped coming by so much. /lit/ was a nice board while it lasted. Maybe it'll get better in September.
