Sup, /lit/izens.
Does /lit/ have an opinion on Walter Moers?
Pic related, it's my favourite book.

I've read most of his books in German.
Even though he takes mostly everything from Gottfried Benn in terms of structure etc. (For Example: Der Schreckenmeister is a more-or-less retelling of Spiegel, das Kätzchen) it is still the only fantasy lit I can stand.
He has a very rich fantasy, his language is not that outstanding, but still good books to read. Easy, too, always good for a train ride.

Spiegel, das Kätzchen isn't from Benn, it's from Gottfried Keller who also wrote "Kleider machen Leute".
(OP is, of course, german too)

I don't see many parallels between Moers and Keller or even Benn.
Of course, Der Schrecksenmeister ("The alchemaster's apprentice" in english) is a retelling of Spiegel, das Kätzchen. But he always said that it would be.

I also love it. But, in my opinion, some things are easier to understand when you already know Rumo.
