The entire book is not in second person. There are recurring segments that have a more traditional tense.

Also I read through it and enjoyed it. Did you put down a clockwork orange after ten pages because the main character's vernacular didn't instantly make sense to you?

It's a good book, I would say give it a chance and try reading a few chapters at least before just going deciding if it's not for you.
