Saw this at B&N. Raaaaaaagggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

So /lit/, what literary atrocities have made you rage lately?

>> No.883403

OP here, btw this is Dante's Inferno (the entire poem and all) with video-game commentary. Essentially.

When I heard about this game and the butchering they were doing to the story, my reaction was literally the same as the attached pic.

At first I raged, but I'm grinning now.

The fucktards who buy it because of the game will be wanting their money back real soon. No refunds, asswipes

It doesn't really make me rage, I like to think that it'll garner new interest for the divine comedy and despite the fact that 9 out of 10 of the retards who buy it will hate it because it's nothing like the game, I'm sure there'll be a few who will really enjoy it who would have otherwise never heard of it.

Then again if you don't know what The Divine Comedy is...

I saw a version of Push that was titled:
Precious
>Based on the novel Push.
But it was a novel.
what?

It always kind of pissed me off when I saw Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep published as "Bladerunner"....

The fact that my local bookstore now has a section called "Romantasy" for Twilight and the likes.

And I live in Germany.

Divine comedy's going to be one badass action adventure game. Can't wait.

>>883426
You just blew my fucking mind.

>> No.883558

I was at a little bookstore in the mall the other day. They had a "teen fantasy" section in which I was able to identify books from eight separate series: all by different authors, all blatant Twilight ripoffs with nearly identical covers.

Game came out months ago.

It has Dante as a soldier fighting in the Crusades.

Still think it will be good?

>> No.883570

It's possible, but the covers were clearly designed to look like the Twilight ones. If they were written first, I'd hate to be the poor author whose publisher redesigned their cover to cash in on Twilight's success. They'd make more money, but it wouldn't be worth the lost dignity.

Are you seriously implying that non-christians can't enjoy the book? You know, you're only enforcing the stereotype of you guys being closed-minded with remarks like that.

Fuck yeah. It's a game dude. A game. I'd play that Moby Dick game too cuz Ahab looks like a boss.

Just gotta get comfortable with the fact that there's nothing sacred about the titles or subject matter portrayed in these books you fags read. Plus because of these games people actually might try to read some of this shit. I personally will not, but someone might.

I'm totally okay with the OP's post. More people reading Dante is good. If they get there via some shit videogame, so be it.

Art's good no matter how you find it. The only objection I have is that there are cheaper versions available in bookstores but without the fancy art.
