What is a labyrinth? It is a game of decisions.

mirrors and labyrinths and dreams and alternate realities and books are his explorations of the infinite, the finite, and the human mind. it's all metaphorical

That is a superficial explanation of his obsession with labyrinths, but what about mirrors? It has something to do with replications and self-reflection, but the concept is still nebulous in my mind.

The idea is both valid for Borges. Like someone said in this thread, his symbolism on mirrors and Labyrinths is an exploration, or reflection, towards the infinite, which also contains decisions. These are not only infinite but instantly change everyman who takes them progressively. I think it could be clearer if you read his short story "El Otro"(the other).

This too. B-man was obsessed with destiny because of the cultural landscape of his country, in which there was a struggle between old colonial inheritance and new immigrant presence. El Sur and El Fin are all about this.
