Just read Lest Darkness Fall by L. Sprague de Camp, fun little read. Currently looking for more alt. history.

The only one I've found is Without Warning by John Birmingham, and it looks bad.

The world would be a utopia in five years as Europe takes center stage, ends wars in the middle east, solves global warming, invests in science and space exploration instead of Jesus and weapons. Our children would basically be living in Star Trek
