I don't think writers will ever get it through their thick heads: In order to write properly you need to have all those qualities in yourself, you can't fake them. Example: Being funny, charming, suave, witty, encompassing all the personalities and qualities your characters exhibit. You cannot just pretend you're them. Often times you'll notice that the characters in a series are actually the same person, only narrowed down into a little archetype, but sometimes their dialogue style and they way think start to collide because it is after all written by the same person.

And then there's figuring out step by step how an action goes.
>I'll just kill all my enemies with poison... which I do not have, and I don't know exactly how it works, and I have no idea what I'm doing.
>But hey! It's fiction, it doesn't have to be realistic, right? Plot conveniences, I love you all.

Then there's artsy idiot poets way back from 1900 which had no fucking clue how to convince you on how they felt, they only threw a bunch of whiny crybaby hissy fits that the world is too cruel and they're too big of a losers to live in it, hey exactly like this generation of uncultured retards. The thing is that none of them ever did anything original and all of them had the same shitty points of views on the matter, nothing refreshing and truly eccentric about it.

WTF?! I give up on books and writing now.

I agree on your main point that writing comes from experience, and one that lacks experience will have trouble communicating it. But I don't think experience should be confused with knowing details, i.e. telling a good story about a poison plot involves more knowing what a thrill is than the recipe for a deadly potion.
