What are the modern cities where writers, poets, artist -- all those fags -- concetrate? In due time I will pursue a bohemian lifestyle, and I needed know where to live in a shitty flat; so I can indulge in drugs but still also try and fail to be accepted in the Canon -- that is die miserably in some river, drunk.

You mean contemporary?

I'd also like to know of any areas like this so that I can avoid them at all costs.

Yo man, if Scotland leaves the UK, come to Glasgow and we can Hellenize the west end.

As of now, probably one of those faggy North American cities like Austin or Vancouver, where people wear beanies and ride bikes and shit

I would love to hear the answer to this. What is the best city for an aspiring writer? New York?

Does DC work? (I'm looking for a cushy government job to earn a living while I live the /lit/ lifestyle)

Nah, you're 5-10 years to late, both those have been hyper gentrified. To be an artist you have to be able to be poor--the real hipsters are moving into Detroit, Minneapolis or Philly.

>To be an artist you have to be able to be poor

But what happens when you're so good at your art that you become rich? Do you have to stop being an artist?

Bohemia has been dead for years if not decades. All you have now is yuppies and trust fund babies with the most milquetoast and middlebrow of "art" running around.

Malbin brah, the low fat soy babychinos are to die for.

Vienna or Zürich.
