Is anyone here an English literature or creative writing major or something relatively related?

I am currently in university (going into my third year shortly) and I am strongly thinking about switching my major to English lit or creative writing. I am planning to apply to law school as well as medical school but if I don't get in there is not much I can do with those degrees. I love to write but would I get published? Probably not.

What do you guys plan to do with your /lit/ tier degree?

English literature major here. Fourth year.

What am I planning to do? Get my MA degree as soon as I can and then teach some kids and earn enough not to die. That's pretty much the only thing I am capable of right now.

older gent here (mid-30's). i've my BA in English. i've worked in marketing, advertising, journalism, and currently in film/video production. i've friends who went on to get their law degrees. one works for city council and another for the chamber of commerce. others work in journalism, which i briefly did (hated it), and only two went on to become published authors: one in comics, the other in crime fiction. hope that helps.

It does thanks. As much as I hate admitting it, I think law school is probably the route I will take even though I like medicine more.
