Has anyone ever killed themselves over the metaphysical?

Almost certainly, though I can't cite any suicide notes off the top of my head. I do know that there was a (non-fatal) shooting in Russia resulting from an argument over Kant, so metaphysics had definitely caused bloodshed in the past.
