Why does it seem that, more and more, the word "critical" is being used to mean almost the exact opposite of critical?

Whenever I see the word it usually means "doesn't question [postmodern ideology x]"

You've already made this thread several times before. Search the archive.

Or I can end the thread by giving you the answer you're looking for: it's the kikes, Deus vult, praise lord KEK

Sounds to me that you don't read any of the things you are attempting to critique. I'd try reading before posting next time, sport.

Because if you did you would know that the discourses you think you understand take certain assumptions for granted just like anything else, and criticize culture from those standpoints. You don't ask chemists to assert that objects exist.

But chemists don't claim to be engaging in "critical dialogue." They claim to be doing chemistry. Ideologues are doing ideology but claim to be engaging in "critical dialogue"

Chemists are aware that they are toiling in the status quo when it comes to assumptions. People who claim to be "critical" are saying that they are taking things apart and scrutinizing them. That's what the word means.

>>8639440

ok, so let's take the test case of critical race theory. according to you it is just a taking for granted of "postmodern ideology." but i defy you to tell me what is "uncritical" about locating and analyzing the assumptions underlying or, as is more often the case, engendered in contemporary, culturally popular representations of race.

>> No.8639474

they aren't being critical about their own ideological assumptions about the concepts of race and power and even moral philosophy

And likewise critics don't claim to be doing chemistry, what's the issue here?
