So I purchased my first real book today. I heard that you need to be American to relate to some of the things. (which I'm not) I also heard that the writing is hard to understand.
It seems interesting. If I can't pick it up right now I will in the future after I have red more literature. Did I do good /lit/?

I know you're trolling but this stuck out to me

It's funny how this is barely even a thing anymore given the internet, everyone pretty much know what American culture is and consists of whereas the same couldn't be said for, say, French culture.

I'm not tho. Is this a /lit/ meme ?

It's a bit of a meme, as for whether it's actually a good book or not I can't say. I'm sure some people love it unironically and that it had some appeal to you other than /lit/ telling you to read it, so by all means read and enjoy it.
